Lobsterfest This fall at Lobsterfest, in cooperation with Science in Motion, the Ag Club made liquid nitrogen ice cream to give away at the booth. We also gave away "Got Milk" bumper stickers, pencils, and magnets donated to us by the Huntingdon County Dairy Promotion. |

Farm Tours Our Ag Club has toured several local farms near Huntingdon. We recently had the opportunity to tour Penn State’s Dairy Science facility. |

Osteochallenge 5K with PSU Dairy Science Club Members of the Juniata Ag Club traveled to State College in October to run in the annual Osteochallenge 5 Kilometer run/walk. Each participant raised money to support the National Osteoporosis Foundation. There were approximately 40 participants, including 6 from our Ag Club. We raised over $150 for the event. After the race, the members were given plenty of food, milk, stickers, agricultural brochures, cow erasers, etc. The top winner for the male and female races won gift certificates, as well as other prizes. |

Corn Maze The Ag Club went to a corn maze near State College in October. Members of the club enjoyed a hayride and a bonfire. We toasted marshmallows and made smores. |

Farm Show Trip In early January, members of the JC Ag Club travel to the Pennsylvania Farm Show. This annual exhibition, which is the largest indoor agricultural event in the United States, is held at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. There are always plenty of animals, food, agricultural information, etc. at this event. It is definitely a good way to spend a Friday afternoon. |

Community Center Club members were invited to the Huntingdon Community Center to do an activity during their after school program. We decorated cups and planted grass seed while teaching the kids what plants need to grow and how to care for them. |

Local 4-H Involvement In the past members have served as judges for Huntingdon County’s Outstanding 4-H-er Contest. The club is planning future involvement with local livestock and horticulture clubs, which may feature workshops and field trips.

Volunteering at
Horsepower Farm The Ag Club donates time and effort to help with animal care and other tasks at the Horsepower Farm. This facility is a place where children with mental or physical disabilities can experience therapy through interaction with horses. |

Ice Cream Socials The Ag Club loves to get together and eat ice cream! We like to take this activity on the road, to places such as Scoops, The PSU Creamery, and the honey ice cream stand at the PA Farm Show! |
