Mission Statement
September 9, 1997

The purpose of the Juniata Chess Team is to promote, in all manifestations of the word, Chess activities for the students, faculty, and staff of Juniata College, and community at large, in that prioritized order. As such, the Juniata Chess Team accepts as its mission the responsibilities of

• Securing adequate facilities and equipment conducive to the playing of Chess

• Providing organization in support of such an exercise, the dissemination of Chess-related information

• Offering educational and instructional activities and materials

• Joining in inter-collegiate Chess activities

• Providing support for related endeavors

It is the vision of the Juniata Chess Team to see a permanent cordial, stimulating, and self-sufficient environment at Juniata College for the pursuit of the royal game of Chess.

Meetings for open play are held on Fridays in The Cyber Cafe of Ellis Hall from 7:00pm - 9:00pm.
