I have been riding since I was ten, but that was mainly untrained Western for ranch work and trail riding. I have always loved to ride, so I began taking formal English lessons about a year ago and I couldn't love it more. I do not compete with the Equestrian Team because of time issues, but I love getting out to ride and working on honing my skills.

As a historian come National Park Ranger, I work in costume around horses and mules and it was really important and beneficial for me to learn to ride well. This year I am hoping to be a mounted ghost in our annual Halloween Ghost Walk.

I became a member of the Equestrian Club because I feel that there is an under appreciated element to being a good rider, it is not only a fun sport or hobby, but in a case like mine, it is a savvy career move too!
