Requirements

  1. Riders must be full-time students at Juniata.
  2. Riders must be in good academic standing at the time of the show.
  3. Riders are required to have at least 12 lessons a semester with Lori, 2 to 4 of which will be mandatory team lessons before a show.
  4. Riders are NOT required to compete at every show listed on the schedule.
  5. Riders must own appropriate show clothing. This includes a helmet, tall boots, a show shirt with chocker, and a show jacket (preferably navy or dark conservative color).

Showing

All team members are assigned to an IHSA division by the coach, descriptions of which can be found in the IHSA Rulebook. Riders are randomly assigned to a horse the morning of the show and are judged solely on their equitation in each of their classes. Riders have the opportunity to watch the horses warm up before their classes, but are not given a warm up. The cost of each class is $30 and should be paid to the treasurer before each competition.
