Volunteering on the Go!

The Juniata Active Volunteer Association (JAVA) provides students with opportunities to engage in direct service. JAVA recognizes that students are busy; the club is designed with flexibility so anyone can fit service activities into his or her schedule.

Students can get involved without attending meetings or planning sessions. In fact, the club never meets as a whole!

Before each JAVA event, club members receive an e-mail notifying them about volunteer opportunities. If they want to help out all they have to do is reply and show up!

JAVA organizes and staffs three major events per semester. Members provide the manpower by volunteering at campus-wide Blood Drives, Special Olympics, and Relay for Life.

Each event provides JAVA members with a unique opportunity to either serve on the committee and plan the event or just show up the day of the event to help out.
