Juniata's Student Literary Magazine
est. 1964
What is Kvasir?
Kvasir is Juniata College’s student-run literary magazine in existence under its current persona since nineteen sixty-four. The contents of the magazine contain student submitted work including, but not limited to: poetry, short stories, prose, essays, drawings, and photography. Our main goal is to promote the Arts on the Juniata campus and in the Huntingdon community. By hosting events like poetry readings and slams, we hope to provoke the student body to find a creative voice within themselves. Should they decide to share with the rest of the world Kvasir is a tangible and willing outlet for that voice.
How does it work?
All submissions to Kvasir undergo a process before they are accepted into the magazine. During this process, works are read by members and constructively discussed. Each piece is then put to a vote and majority rules. Occasionally, literary works are asked to be revised at the discretion of the writer.
How do you pronounce it?
Taking its name from the Norse God of creativity, Kvasir is pronounced va-sur, the same way as the collegiate institution. Click here to learn the legend of Kvasir.
