Meeting Minutes

Hello everybody!
SPS meeting tonight, in brief:
- PPN 4/17 CHOOSE YOUR OWN DEMO, sign up sheet in the lounge will be available at the end of the week. This year, chemistry majors are encouraged to participate.
Mike Wilson! will be manning the camera and making the PPT
__________ will be making flyers for the local highschools
Andy Papale will be making flyers for the campus
Leading the nomination for the bed of nails this year is...should have been at the meeting to find out!
- Zone 3 meeting 4/12-4/13 at PSU (perhaps they felt outdone). Conflicts with MAA meeting, unfortunately.
- Field trip to Smithsonian, D.C. Sat-Sun 4/19-4/20, includes U2 lightshow at the IMAX, milestones of flight exhibit, Apollo to the moon, Exploration of the Universe through unmaned probes, and more! 3/4 of the available spots have already been filled but it's not too late to join (Reply to this email to join us)!
Cameron and Jess are in charge of finding a hotel for us Sat night.
- New T's will be available soon. This year we're serious (design is "Get excited about physics!" and shows a kid jumping up 'to the next energy level'). They will be sold outside of Baker in 1-2 weeks.
There will be a sign up sheet for peopling the table in the lounge.
- The ANNUAL PHYSICS END OF YEAR PARTY will be in Jessica Ritchey's backyard at 1620 Washington St. Details TBA. Feel free to start getting excited.
- Lock-in this weekend at the Huntingdon community center will benefit a charity. Dan D'Orazio and Alex Barnes will be doing some quick and dirty demos around 1:30-2:00AM to keep the masses entertained. Email one of them if interested in helping.
- Next year we will be attending a conference at Fermilab in Chicago 11/2008, so consider clearing that month of extraneous duties.
- Nominations were held tonight, so elections will be held at the next meeting. Come support your favorite candidate!
