Constitution

 

 

We the students of Juniata College established a chapter of Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society to be known as Lambda Epsilon. It is a society for students, particularly undergraduates, based on academic achievement. It should emphasize the support of continued scholarship, dissemination of scientific knowledge, and promotion of biological research.
Article I: Name
The name of this organization shall be the Lambda Epsilon Chapter of the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society.
Article II: Purpose
The purpose of this society is to function as an honor and professional society for students of the biological sciences.
Article III: Membership
The membership of this society shall be open to all biology "majors" who have met the standards set forth in the bi-laws.
Article IV: Officers
The officers of this club shall be as follows: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian.
Article V: Meetings
Business meetings shall be no less than once a month. The dates shall be agreed upon the first meeting of the school year.
Article VI: Adoption of the Constitution
The adoption of the Constitution will require a two-thirds vote of all Active Members of the society present at a meeting, and approval of the chapter officers.
Article VII: Amendments
An amendment to this Constitution may be proposed by a simple majority of members and must be presented at one meeting prior to the vote. Any proposed amendment becomes effective once ratified by two-thirds of the voting members present at the meeting.
